Leigh Ann Gilmer

Leigh Ann is the Regional Director for the SeaDoc Society, managing the operations, fundraising, and administration so the science team can focus on healing the Salish Sea. She has led award-winning development campaigns and brings 20 years of leadership experience to help guide SeaDoc’s strategic vision for a vibrant ecosystem. 

Leigh Ann holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from Seattle University where she also worked as the Director of Annual Giving. She has served in other senior roles from Director of Advancement at MoPOP, Chief Operations Officer and Development Director at Conservation Northwest, and Executive Director at Cascadia Art Museum. Leigh Ann is proud to be a part of the small-but-mighty team at the SeaDoc Society, where she’s often bragging about her colleagues collectively “punching above our weight” to give wildlife and endangered species in the Salish Sea a fighting chance. 

In her free time, Leigh Ann loves to hike and backpack anywhere and everywhere across Washington, Oregon, and B.C. She is currently fostering two elderly doggos, loves getting out to try surfing (but mostly falling) at beaches all over the world, seeking out local breweries wherever she goes, and maxing out her deadlift - but not all at the same time. Chances are you can find Leigh Ann on Orcas Island because she tries to spend as much time there as possible.
